Restorative dental care
Dental treatment starts by identifying the cause: decay, a chip, sensitivity and inflammation need different approaches. Rebuilding a tooth and treating its root canals address different problems and are not automatic decisions. A consultation explores which tissue can be preserved, the restoration options and the follow-up that may be needed.
These pages explain different areas of dental care. The availability of a particular treatment and any involvement of specialist colleagues are discussed at consultation.

There is no wrong question
Is root canal treatment always necessary?
No. The decision depends on the diagnosis and the condition of the tissues inside the tooth. A symptom or photograph alone is not enough.
Can a badly damaged tooth be saved?
This is assessed after examination and diagnosis. The dentist explains the outlook, limitations and alternatives.
